Back to my roots…
Early this morning I was looking back at my old blog posts, and I realized since moving to the city I haven’t really sat down to blog like I used to and write out my thoughts. So I guess here I am attempting to get back to my roots. I am not sure where my life is going to be taking me in the next few weeks relationship wise. I have always been that person that never quite fit in or has had a close group of friends their whole life. Being that person makes for some pretty lonely moments, ones which since coming to the city I have attempted to avoid by distracting myself with people and experiences no matter how uncomfortable they made me feel. But in doing so I have lost the fun loving person that I came to the city as, so I wan’t to get back to making myself happy with the small things in life, and I am going to have more sunny days. So here is my summer to do list to get my back on track:
1. I leave for the Kentucky Derby on Friday, so I have to seriously start considering what I am going to wear and get my packing butt in gear.
2. Looking for a new job has been a bitch, so I think I want to take a more fun and creative approach to it and rewrite my cover letter to better express who I really am creatively.
3. I love this blog, but I think New York City life deserves a different blog. I am going to start a new blog consisting of a lot of my own photography, and more posts like this helping me work through my thoughts with all of you. So my question to all of you, should I stay in Tumblr? Blogspot? What pointers do you have for writing an amazing blog? Any advice is welcome!
4. On the same line as the blog, in order to incorporate my own photography, I have to start carrying around my camera again. So I am in desperate need of a new case and a small point and shoot that is amazing for night photography. Again any suggestions welcome.
5. I am going to do a little photoshop brush up.
6. I need to start creating art again as well. But in order to do so it look like I am going to be making a run for the art store very soon here.
7. Stay healthy and train for a half marathon. Eeek!
8. I am working on a business plan that I have to continue to develop.
So here is my list, relatively easy tasks but in the end they are going to help bring me back to the person that I have always been. And that person is ok with being alone and feeling lonely, because sometimes that’s just how you’re meant to experience this world. I have never had any doubts that my journey through this world would be lonely so I don’t know why I tried to fool myself into thinking things would change. Until next time.
